Serbian Winter.

"Why do we love, today and leave, tomorrow?
Why are the meanings of words weathered through the storm that is time?
Why are we helpless to control that what seems so near?
Illusions so real, feelings so deep, that certainty seems a crime.
Strength needs support, for belief is not built alone.
Life is temporary, yes, but what about emotions?
They seem to wither away in the very tempest.
We reach out to those we perceive so close, putting our hand out into the mist.
Shrouded by fear of disappointment yet finding solace in past hope,
Momentarily, we are grasped by transfixion till the wrath of reality is unleashed.
A gray emotion like a Serbian winter pervades the air, the mist clears and we fall disbelieving.
It seems so futile to believe, so hopeless to care but feelings are more than just ripples, they pervade through the hardest of hearts and the most unsound minds as they oscillate between insanity and reason.
Emotions drive us to listen and to speak with our heart alone.
They have the power to turn rain into hail, snow into river and winter to spring.
The only power we have, is the power to hold on and the will to believe.
We make our own way through life’s meadow, as all around us blooms or wilts, but we are compelled to step forward and find our own hope as seasons change that what is all around us. All we have to do is find our own light, whether it is through the hopeful rays of the sun, the glow of a firefly or the lure of a star. We walk…" By Raahil Rai
